Always Dreamed of Visiting Egypt? Now is the Time and Here's How

Experience the Timeless Energy of Ancient Egypt the Non-Tourist Way
Forget everything you've ever heard or been told about Egypt. The only way to experience this ancient land is through your own truth and the only way to do that is simply to accept the adventure. If you're planning a vacation or simply dreaming of one, Egypt is definitely a destination worth keeping in mind. And if you are like some, then perhaps Egypt has been calling you for some time, so why not accept the invitation? There is much awaiting, ready to tantalize the senses in every way imaginable. Whether it's the awe-inspiring grandeur of the temples and pyramids, the unbelievable longevity of intact colors and richness of the art, the beautiful warmth and smiles of the ever-so-kind people, the flavorful spices and textures of the exotic foods, or the array of scents, handwork, jewelry, cottons, and artistry of every nature, you will be consumed with gratitude and excitement at every corner.

Many have journeyed to Egypt and returned with mixed feelings and experiences. Some absolutely loving it and being changed forever and others simply didn't get the opportunity to truly delve into the energy and awesomeness available to them. Everything always unfolds perfectly, yet why not take advantage of the resources and choices out there? Sometimes it simply takes a bit of inquiry, a little help, and a lot of intention-the ingredients to a tailor-made journey created just for you.
You must already have the intent, since you're reading this, and the inquisitiveness of inquiry is also the other side of the coin of intent. So let's focus on the second ingredient, help, where we'll learn some ways to make the most out of your Egypt journey.
For a total experience, there are many options available out there, than simply signing up for the next tourist trip to Egypt. There are some quality travel companies that offer more than merely a rush cattle-call, in and out of the sacred sites, which are embedded like jewels throughout Egypt and along its sacred Nile River. More and more, people are discovering that there are possibilities beyond the "quickie" rush tours and truly are starting to realize and embrace the fact that they want more-more quality, more for their money, and more of a total experience. Why? Because they, we, deserve it! If you're going to save up for a vacation or if you just simply need a getaway from the stresses of life, then it makes sense that you'd be looking for something a bit extraordinary and worthy of reflecting what you deserve. Egypt is an ideal travel destination for families, groups, friends, romantics, solo travelers, photographers, artists, history buffs, and spiritualists alike.
Sometimes we need to take into account factors that will dictate the time of year we can travel, but if you have a bit of flexibility in that arena, then taking advantage of off-season times is always a good call, both in terms of weather and crowds. Egypt has only two seasons: a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October. If you don't like the heat and want to avoid crowds, then summer is probably not the best choice. However, if it's your only choice, do not dismay. Just wear light, breathable clothing, hat, lots of sunscreen, and take advantage of early morning jaunts before the heat of the sun hits hard and/or find yourself a tour like the ones mentioned below so that you can still avoid those crowds. December through February seems to be the coolest in terms of weather with mid to high 60's to high 70's in the day, but very cool nights even reaching the 40's and 50's! Any information you find on temperature can only give you an average, but there is always the occasional variation, as nothing in life is set in stone. It really depends on your personal preferences and your travel time restraints. The best time to visit Egypt, in terms of weather however, is October through May where generally temperatures range in the 60's to 80's.

And, if you're looking for the truly "once in a lifetime" experience, then highly recommended is to find yourself a quality travel company that specializes in sacred journeys. In this way you will not only receive a wealth of historical knowledge and background, but will truly have the chance to experience the energy of this sacred land in a way the regular tourists never get a chance to. One such company who provides an extraordinary service in this area is Luminati Egyptian Travel. Shelia Reed, founder, works closely with Quest Travel, a premier ground operator for tour companies in Egypt. They are a powerhouse of unmatched quality and service and truly know how to create the ultimate Egyptian journey that will quench both your conscious and deeper desires. Traveling with them you'll avoid being whisked through these ancient sites, never getting the chance to do more than snap some photos, hear the usual spiel, and load back up on the bus for the next stop. Traveling with companies like Luminati offers you the chance to have a very knowledgeable Egyptologist guide who has depth of knowledge beyond the normal facts in the books, offering also a more metaphysical and spiritual element to the mix. The beauty is that they truly stress the importance of just "being" and "experiencing" in order to feel the site for yourself. So private time, perhaps utilized as a "silent" experience, as well as group time, is available to use at your discretion and to help optimize your journey.
The utmost care is taken to ensure all needs are met, including special dietary needs to accommodate vegetarians and vegans (which is very easy in Egypt and most delectable), quality accommodations, and special privileges, which include two hours of private time inside the Great Pyramid's King and Queen's Chamber, private time between the paws of the Sphinx (normally tourists can only access viewing of the Sphinx from a platform above and away from it), other private morning or evening access depending on the individual journey, and all efforts are taken to create private times even when other tourist groups are around, which may include arriving early morning to take advantage of undisturbed energies of the sites before other groups arrive. Group sizes are relatively intimate with 10 to 20 people usually and by the end of the journey will come to feel like a family. The other unique offering is that each trip is usually hosted by another expert, as well as Shelia, that provides their own gifts as tools to help access the energies of the sites, as each site corresponds to the energies of the Chakras (the seven energy centers of the body) and can be very powerfully opening when working with them through the power of this sacred land.
Remember, that your intents hold power and with them you can create whatever kind of experience you want. There isn't just one way to explore Egypt, or any place for that matter. Ask yourself what you desire, do a little research, and go from there. You'll be led to the perfect trip that is right for you, but knowing that there are more options available is empowering. Egypt is one of the sacred spots on Earth whose powerful energy remains in tact, still to this day.

Is It Safe To Visit Egypt?

It is no secret that Egypt has recently been quite unstable. Several countries, including the United States of America and Russia have quite strongly recommended their citizens against travelling to Egypt. This is greatly due to the fact that this political instability has brought with it a storm of unwanted violence and riots.
However, as an Egyptian, I'd like to take a second to take a closer look at this "instability". Mainly, Egypt's tourism can be split into two categories, Holiday-tourism and Attraction-tourism. Quite a few people choose to combine both, but I believe this is a fair angle to view the problem.
Holiday Tourists:

Essentially, these tourists head towards the out skirts of the country. Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Gouna, Ein-El Sokhna and Sahl Hasheesh. Each of these locations is at least a few hundred kilometers away from Cairo and Alexandria. I believe it to be unfair to refer to these places as "unstable". All the violence that has happened lately has been contained in Cairo and Alexandra, due to them being the two largest cities in Egypt and where the protests tend to happen. Tourists planning on visiting these places should not at all worry when doing so, as these places haven't, to date, shown any evidence of instability.
Attraction-tourism:
These tourists, on the other hand, are more geared towards Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor. This is due to the fact that most Egyptian historic attractions are located in these areas. The Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the Valley Of Kings in Luxor, etc.. Luxor, fortunately, hasn't seen any instability. Partly because of the Government's insistence on this area remaining calm for the flourishment of Tourism. Cairo and Alexandria however aren't as lucky, and areas close to downtown seem to continue with protests. Aside from the central areas, these two cities are very safe and should not cause worry.
As an outsider, Egypt may seem quite unstable. However, as an Egyptian living there, in Cairo, the city remains to be safe and there is no cause for distress.
As a tourist, I understand that you may have justified concerns when making plans to visit the country. I can, however, reassure you that aside from Cairo's Tahrir Square and Alexandria's downtown, the whole of the country remains to be very safe. Take the necessary precautions you would as a tourist in any place. Do not walk in the streets when it's very late, stay away from unsafe areas and avoid dark alleys. Who wouldn't do that anyways! For extra security, make sure you've signed with a travel agency, here's a list of Egyptian travel agencies .
